Auger mining is an excellent means of recovering coal that would be either unwinnable or not economically viable by other mining methods.

It offers mine managers and contractors a number of benefits including:

-  Low capital cost & operating costs relative to coal recovered

-  Enables normally inaccessible coal seams to be economically mined

-  Utilises existing infrastructure, thus reducing cost

-  Helps maximise resource utilisation
